How to Choose Essential Oils for Emotions

Have you ever wanted to create an essential oil blend for emotional balance that's specifically tailored to you and your emotions? eg if you have problems with depression, self esteem, assertiveness and poor concentration, you might want to create a blend that helps with all of these issues. You could choose one oil for depression, one for self esteem, one for assertiveness and one for concentration, but why not choose oils that help with most or all of these issues?
Our essential oil selector for emotional healing helps you do just that. Just select the emotions you'd like to deal with and click Search. eg if you tick Depression, Self Esteem, Assertiveness and Concentration/Focus, it will suggest oils that can help with all 4 of these issues, oils that can help with 3 of them, oils that help with 2 of them and oils that can help with any one of them.
The oils that can help with all or most of your selected emotions are great candidates for your own personal emotional balance blend. Try them out, choose the ones you like or that resonate with you and create the perfect blend for your individual emotional needs.

How to Use the Suggested Essential Oils
Once you've used the Oil Chooser, you'll have a list of oils that can be used for one or more of the emotions you checked. This is just a starting point. Different oils can work differently for different people, so you'll need to try the oils and find which ones work best for you. Try out some of the oils on the list, starting with the ones that work for more than one of your chosen emotions. Decide whether you like them and find out how well they work for you.
You can then create a blend with some of the oils that work well for you. This is where you get to have fun trying different combinations of oils and coming up with a blend you like. Choose 3 or 4 different oils and start out with a drop of each, then add extra drops one at a time to see how it changes the way the blend smells. You can also click on the oils in the list to see a list of oils each of them blends well with.
If you already know that some oils work particularly well for you, you might want to include some of those oils in your blend.
If you're creating a diffuser blend, you want a total of
- 3-5 drops for a 100 ml diffuser
- 6-10 drops for a 200 ml diffuser
- 9-12 drops for a 300 ml diffuser
- 21-15 drops for a 400 ml diffuser
- 15-20 drops for a 500 ml diffuser
If you're creating a rollerball blend, add a total of 6-10 drops of essential oil to the bottle and fill the rest with carrier oil. We suggest using our Recipe Safety Checker to check the safety of your recipe.
