This recipe was used in a study into essential oils for rheumatoid arthritis - it reduced pain after two weeks and reduced fatigue too.
|30 drops Lavender|
|30 drops Juniper Berry|
|20 drops Ylang Ylang|
|20 drops Rosemary|
|95 ml Fractionated Coconut Oil|
Combine all ingredients in a 4oz dark coloured glass bottle and shake well to blend.
Massage into the affected joints regularly.
The study used coconut oil as the carrier oil but if you don't like coconut oil or are allergic to it, try another carrier oil.
This massage oil contains several different pain relieving, anti-inflammatory oils that can help relieve the pain and swelling of arthritis.
The blend was used in this study - 30 minutes of aromatherapy massage was given 3 times a week for 6 weeks. The aromatherapy massage significantly decreased pain scores from the beginning of the 2nd week and decreased fatigue scores from the beginning of the 4th week.
