Ingredients

30 drops Tangerine
20 drops Sweet Orange
15 drops Ylang Ylang
10 drops Patchouli
4 drops Blue Tansy (or use Roman Chamomile or German Chamomile)

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Combine the oils in an essential oil dropper bottle and shake to mix.

  2. Add 5 drops of the mixture to your diffuser or add 6-10 drops to a 10 ml roller bottle and fill the remainder with your favorite carrier oil.

If you don't have all of these oils, there's a reasonable chance you can make a similar blend with oils you already own. The Young Living blend uses Blue Tansy but if you don't have that oil, either Roman Chamomile or German Chamomile will have a very similar effect. If you don't have tangerine, try mandarin or bergamot or use 50 drops of sweet orange oil instead of 30 of tangerine and 20 of sweet orange. The effect won't be quite the same but it will be close.

The Peace and Calming blend is ideal for unwinding after a stressful day or diffusing before bed to help you sleep. If you're a fan of citrus and floral scents, you'll love the smell.

This is a very popular blend that sometimes goes out of stock so it's great to be able to make your own when you can't get it from Young Living. Plus you can save a lot of money by making your own.

What's in the Peace and Calming Blend

Tangerine essential oil is uplifting and calming, with a bright, cheerful scent. It's often used to reduce nervous tension and clear the mind.
Sweet Orange essential oil is joyful, uplifting and balancing. You'll often find it in blends for sleep.
Ylang Ylang is calming and joyful. It's commonly used to help with stress, anxiety and depression.
Patchouli is also well known for it's ability to soothe anxiety, relieve stress and help with depression.
Blue Tansy is a less commonly known oil that's great for emotional healing, boosting self esteem and increasing confidence.

How Much can you Save?

A 5 ml bottle of Peace and Calming from Young Living will set you back $49.75 - and if you use a lot of it, you can get through a 5 ml bottle very quickly.

If you make your own using oils from another company that sells high quality essential oils at a lower price, you can get
10 mls of Tangerine for $7.95 - that's enough to make around 5 * 5 ml bottles
10 mls of Sweet Orange for $6.95 - that's enough to make around 7 * 5 ml bottles
10 mls of Ylang Ylang for $12.95 - enough to make around 9 bottles
10 mls of Patchouli for $7.95 - enough to make around 14 bottles
2.5 mls of Blue Tansy for $12.95 - enough to make around 9 bottles

That means you can make 5 bottles worth for $49.75 and still have plenty of most of the oils left over.

If you spend just a little bit more you can get 30 ml bottles of Tangerine ($10.95) and Sweet Orange ($8.95) instead of 10 ml bottles. You'll then have enough to make around 9 bottles worth for a total of $54.75, with plenty of Tangerine, Sweet Orange and Patchouli left over.

Warnings - Ylang ylang oil is best avoided by babies and young children. Blue Tansy oil has possible drug interactions.
