Use this anti-bloating recipe to relieve discomfort caused by eating too much or eating foods that don't agree with you. It can help to release gas, ease bloating and reduce stomach pain and discomfort.

The dilution of this recipe is 4%. This dilution is suitable for chronic conditions like aches and pains.


3 drops Peppermint
3 drops Lemon
2 drops Cardamom
9.5 ml Carrier oil of your choice
Warnings - Do not apply peppermint oil on or near the face of infants and children. Peppermint oil is best avoided during pregancy and while breastfeeding. Lemon oil can cause photosensitivity. If you use it on your skin, either use a steam distilled lemon oil (which doesn't cause photosensitivity) or dilute to 2% or less or avoid exposure to the sun or sunbeds for 12 hours.

Add the oils to a 10 ml roller bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with carrier oil. Shake the bottle to combine the oils.

Massage the oil into your abdomen as soon as you start to feel bloated. Massage for a few minutes in a circular motion - up the right side, across under the rib bones, down the left side and across to the right. This is the same direction that food flows inside your digestive system and massaging in this direction can help release trapped gas.
