Instructions

To make the ADHD rollerball blend, add 2 drops each of vetiver, cedarwood and lavender to a 10 ml rollerball then fill with your favourite carrier oil and mix well. Apply to the forehead, the back of the neck and bottom of the feet a few times a day or whenever you or your child are feeling particularly scattered.

For the diffuser blend, add 1 drop each of vetiver, cedarwood and lavender to your diffuser.

To make an inhaler, add 5 drops each of vetiver, cedarwood and lavender to your inhaler.

Choose whichever method works best for you or your child or use different methods for different situations. The diffuser blend is great for working or studying at home. The roller ball and inhaler are particularly good for taking to school or work.

The recipe is based on a small study into essential oils for ADHD run by Dr Terry Friedman. The study found that Vetiver improved performance by 100%, Cedarwood improved performance by 83% and Lavender improved performance by 53%.

Vetiver is one of the best known essential oils for ADHD and anger. It’s a very relaxing, grounding oil and can help you feel more focused and less anxious.

Cedarwood is commonly used to improve focus and concentration, deal with scattered thoughts and reduce anxiety.

Lavender is another well known essential oil for ADHD and anxiety. It can help deal with the restlessness, jitteriness, agitation and high anxiety levels that are commonly found with ADHD, all of which can interfere with focus and attention.
